After hanging out for a year with my son in his apartment; it is time to move on to new adventures.
I’m still looking forward to a tour bus in the future; but for this moment I have fallen in love with a 1978 Holiday Rambler travel trailer. She is strong and sturdy and filled with character.
During this introduction, I’ll show you how I met her.
The seller was wonderful and when we went to test the outside lights; they did not work. Because it was getting dark, I would have to return another day after he had opportunity to get them working or another solution ready.
I went back to pick her up 3 days later and the seller had magnetic lights hooked up and Matilda was ready to go.
With the sellers assistance; I got the weight distribution hitch correctly attached and was on my way.
The stuff everyone wants to know: I paid $1800 for Matilda and $250 for a 10,000 pound distribution hitch and needed tools from Harbor Freight.
She pulled wonderfully and I returned to my son’s apartment complex to pack my belongings into the trailer. This took approx. 5 days because I just wasn’t in a hurry 🙂
